I have recently found that i cannot use the normal mouthwash and the type that says whitening anywhere on it because an ingredient in it causes my throat to swell. So i was wondering if there are any teeth whitening remedies that i can use or homemade mouthwash seeing as i cant use the storebrands. Please no rude comments, and yes i do brush my teeth 3 times a day 5 min each.

okay first you need to get tooth paste (im sure you have some)
get baking soda ( ask your parents)

mix the soda(baking soda) into the paste (tooth paste)
after a couple brushes you can see that you teeth is whiter.
and you can barley taste the baking soda in the paste.

make sure you rinse out just like what you would do when you brush your teeth.

Crest whitening strips. I believe you can get them for like 35 dollars at walmart or target. Also the new Crest 3D is pretty nice. Takes off surface stains in 14 days.

Honestly, I've found that taking a small amount of half peroxide and half water and swishing it in your mouth works wonders. It may take a couple of days to notice but it works great. Just make sure you rinse with water well afterwards... And don't swallow!!!!

Here you go, mix a paste of baking soda and peroxide, and brush your teeth with it. Mix it in the palm of your hand, and scrape your toothbrush through it. Gonna cost you less than a dollar each for baking soda, and for peroxide, and it will last a long time. The dentist isn't going to tell you that, because it would put him out of the teeth whitening business!! You already know how expensive that is!

mix salt + baking soda and put it on your teeth for few minutes .or add it on top of your regular tooth paste . but home remedies have a very slow effect and they need to be done persistently.
the one occasion i saw an instant tooth whitening was when a neighbour who originally hailed from some hilly area sent us raw walnuts in the form they grow on trees .they were covered by green hard skin and the helper girl at our home took out the skin and starting rubbing it on her teeth for few minutes and during this time she used no water nothing else .after some time she would just spit . and just after 7-8 min of rubbing her teeth were like totally white . not to mention the dark brown stains that walnut left on her lips and extremely bitter taste of walnut bark.

GHet Crest whitening strips.
The one in the dark blue box that says "Pro effects"
not the Premium health kind.

You'll find it at your regular Walmart, and it's cheap.

I use it twice everyday for a week, take a break, then do it again.

The results are amazing.
You can really tell it whitens them..
But it will make them sensitive :(

Brushing your teeth after every meal will prevent your teeth from getting any worse. And of course keeping away from coffee, tea and smoking will help too. ;-)

The crest whitening strips work pretty good. I notice a difference the first few times I used it, but the more I used them though the less difference I saw.

As far as the whitening tooth paste and mouth washes, they don't seem to do anything at all.

What worked the best for me was this mail order stuff from teethwhiten.com, it worked really quickly. They had a free sample offer so you can try it out and see how it works for yourself.

They are better, but they are MUCH more expensive. Also everyones teeth are different. You may get your teeth professionally whitened and loose the results in a week, but your friend might use whitening strips and have great results that last for a year.
If you follow the directions on the whitening strips to a "T" and use a whitening toothpaste (like Crest Vivid white) you should be satisfied and you save a few hundred dollars.
However, the downside to this is, for really good results you must follow the directions (it's usually like 2x a day), and it takes a couple of weeks.
