I will be getting braces off soon and have had them on for a solid 3 years. I really need a very effective teeth whitening product, over the counter. Any ideas? Thanks!

I wouldnt recommend any of them i would just go with good old baking soda, it would work as good as any product but costs alot less
ReplyDeleteHydrogen peroxide. I use it once a month and my teeth are super white. 2 parts water, 1 part peroxide. Read the back of the label just to double check the solution though.
ReplyDeleteThere are several inexpensive at-home methods including baking soda, toothpaste, strips and gel trays. In making a decision you should also consider the level of discoloration of your teeth. Care must be exercised to prevent damage to the teeth enamel.

How do teeth whitening products work? Whitening the teeth with the use of proper teeth whitening products or teeth whitening kits is both effective and safe. It is because none of the good quality teeth whitening products damage the enamel.
ReplyDeleteThe teeth whitening products or teeth whitening kits containing brush-on gels, whitening sprays and toothpastes contain three percent hydrogen peroxide or ten percent carbamide peroxide that breaks down into oxygen molecules when they are applied in the teeth in the presence of light or heat source. The oxygen molecules enter the tiny pores of the enamel and dentin, and break up the stains that block out the light. More and more stains are broken into smaller pieces, as light passes through the teeth and makes them look lighter. Stains of yellowish to slightly brownish nature are best removed by this teeth whitening kit.
Results are noticed within an hour, overnight or within three to four days that solely depends on the type of bleaching gel used and the length of time it is applied on. The tooth appears lighter and whiter without the change in the structure of the tooth or damage to the enamel. Some gels include sodium hydroxide, carbomer, glycerin, sodium fluoride and flavoring ingredients that keeps the teeth strong and healthy. Perfecta teeth whitening appear after a week or month of application and lasts for at least three years. The lasting however depends greatly on personal habits.
In the professional methods of teeth whitening, the dentist use protective gel and rubber shield while bleaching the teeth. These products efficiently guard the gums, lips and soft tissues of the mouth. The plastic tray used in the Loaded Tray method of Teeth Whitening, efficiently carries the bleaching or whitening gel Carbamide Peroxide to be worn in the gum. One can notice 3 shades of color change after using the product.
Some irritation may occur when the teeth whitening products are used. In such case one should identify the product and stop its use or consult his dentist immediately.

Crest Teeth Whitening Strips Are Best
ReplyDeleteI would recommend Crest Whitestrips premium if you are looking for fast-acting results. These can run for about $ 34.99 for a 7-day box.
ReplyDeleteIf you are not looking for fast-acting results, the Basic Crest Whitestrips work after about a month of use and can run for $ 34.99 for 40 strips.
I hope this is what you were looking for! :)
I think IvoryWhite teeth whitening is one of the best in the market today, they promise to whiten your teeth 5 shades in less than 5 day :-)

One popular tooth whitening product that you can use is bleaching solution that contains peroxide for bleaching tooth enamel. The bleaching agent in these products is usually carbamide peroxide, which is available in 10, 16 and 22 percent concentrations.
ReplyDeleteWhiteners that contain peroxide typically come in gel form and are placed in a mouthguard. Some products are used twice a day for 2 weeks while others are intended for overnight use for a 1 to 2 weeks period. If you can obtain the bleaching solution from your dentist, he will be able to construct a custom mouth guard to fit your teeth precisely. Currently, the American Dental Association endorses only dentist-dispensed home-use percent carbamide peroxide tray-applied gels.
In addition to bleaching solution, whitening strips are increasingly being used as a preferred tooth whitening product. For instance, you are now able to get your hands on a set of Crest Whitestrips Supreme from any convenience store. The flexible, invisible strips are coated with an enamel-safe tooth bleaching gel. To whiten your teeth, you simply place the strips on your teeth and wear them for about 15 to 30 minutes each day. After a period of about 21 days, you should be able to see a significant difference on the brightness of your teeth.

Over the counter? How about over the net? :p
ReplyDeletehttp://www.whitedentalsmile.info/whitening.php worked really well for me. And just like you, I just recently had my braces removed and was looking to really make my smile SHINE. Boy it worked well :D
I use this and they are actually having a free trial now which is what they had when I started too so good luck. I highly recommend it.
ReplyDeleteCrest Whitestrips seem to work well, and that brand has the big advantage that the maker is well known and has a serious reputation to protect. Whatever you try, DO NOT fall for any of the "free trial" gimmicks on the Net. In fact, I just would not buy any tooth whitening product that way; there are far more tooth whitening scams and hazardous products on websites than real products, and many of the sellers have very slick come-ons that will suck you in...and then sock your credit card for charges that you had no idea you were agreeing to.
