The best results are achieved at the dentist. Bleaching trays with home bleaching gives the best and longest lasting result. The dentist makes the trays for you and gives you the bleaching gel.
ReplyDeleteCrest White Strips work amazingly! very affective and cost affordable.
ReplyDeleteYou are right about there being a huge variety of methods out there these days, from the old-fashioned baking soda to expensive but effective treatments applied by dentists.

It depends how quickly you want them whitened. Both methods provide the same result. You can get it done at your dentist in an hour, they can also provide you with whitening trays and the whitening gel if you want to top up over the coming months/years.
ReplyDeleteYou can also just whiten them at home. Have some impressions taken at the dentist to make some whitening trays, they will provide you with the gel and instructions. You will wear the trays overnight or if you have a few hours to spare through the day in the house.
Things to look for: Both methods can give you temporary sensitivity for a few days, but always wears off. Also if you have any existing crowns, bridges, veneers, white fillings, you have to remember that these will not change colour.
Costs vary at different practices approx £200 for home kit.
There's a few different things you could do. You could try brushing your teeth with baking soda, if you do that once or twice a week you should see a improvement. The only problem with that is whether you would remember to actually do it, because i didn't. The best ways to whiten your teeth would be to use bleaching trays or have you teeth laser whitened.
ReplyDeleteIf getting them professionally done is too expensive then you can get whitening trays and bleach in stores or off ebay. I know it sounds a bit dodgy but the ebay ones are actually really good. Just make sure you do not buy any bleach over 25% otherwise it will wreck your teeth and make them very sensitive.
The laser whitening is very effective but costs about $ 600 so, depends how much you want to spend. If you have no budget them you could always get veneers. That will dramaticly change the appearance of your teeth.
I hope that helps
No one's teeth are naturally white. They are different shads of white so can never really get 100% white teeth. But there are products which can help you remove stains and give your teeth cleaner look.
ReplyDeleteThe best way is to go to a dentist and pay for a teeth whitening treatment. But that is generally reserved for people who have badly stained teeth or people who have had their braces recently removed.
for an average person, there are several solutions available in the market. the most popular are whitening strips. they are popular because they are the easiest to apply. but they may not be the most effective. i tried out strips but they didn't work for me because they kept coming off.
i resorted to using baking soda and bleach but it was too painful.
the best solution i have come across are the teeth whitening tips. Its the closest thing to what the dentist use. its a powder you apply on your teeth using tips, which removes stains and such. i used it for a week with good results
i saw the add on CNN. here's a link to the site

You can have your teeth whitening done while at the dentist's office or it can be done while at home. At home, you can use whitening products available at your local pharmacy or you can use custom-made trays and solutions that are prepared by your dentist. Each requires a series of whitening procedures of varying lengths. If you're interested in having your teeth whitened, it's a good idea to discuss with your dentist the benefits and disadvantages of each method.
ReplyDeleteGoing to the dentist is still your best option for professional and effective teeth bleaching even though it can be a time consuming and expensive procedure. But times have changed. Because of the technology available today, teeth whitening is easier and more affordable than ever.
You have a wider range of alternatives to choose from, especially if you plan to do it yourself. At home whitening is now as effective as dental office treatments, in addition to being less expensive and more convenient. In fact it is now possible (in most cases) to achieve "dental office" quality teeth whitening, from the comfort of your own home.
Your choices for at-home teeth whitening:
1) Trays with bleaching gels (the most effective)
2) Whitening Strips
3) Whitening Toothpaste
4) Brush-on whitening
All of these methods have their advantages and disadvantages. The type of discoloration on your teeth will also be a determining factor in which method you choose. Look for a teeth whitening system that is easy to use, have clear directions, and will fit into your lifestyle.
