Crowns are anywhere from $ 600 to $ 2000 depending on the dentist and where they practice.
If you had a root canal it is not considered cosmetic. Your insurance should pay something, you can have a pre determination of benefits, the dentist submits to the insurance company so you know before the procedure is done how much you will have to pay out of pocket.
You need to have a crown because the tooth gets brittle after a root canal and has a greater chance of fracturing. If you wait and the tooth breaks it will cost even more to fix.
The dentist will match the color to the other teeth it should blend in nicely.

  1. Because the tooth has had a root canal, your insurance probably won't consider it cosmetic. Root canals weaken the tooth because there is no longer a blood supply to the tooth. If you have to pay full price, it'll be between $ 600-$ 800. The crown won't be lighter than the rest of your teeth. They'll use a shade guide to figure out what color porcelain will match the rest of your smile best.

  2. They have different shades for the crown to match the color of your teeth. They should show it to your first to make sure you approve. I would strongly encourage you to visit this great site: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 5 years ago and they have saved me thousands of dollars on all dental services when I was in college. From root canals, xrays, extractions, exams...etc. They even had my very affordable benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use them the very same day. Good luck and hope this helps out.
