I've heard that straight baking soda works.

Bycarbonate of soda works better.
ReplyDeletejust use that and whiteing toothpaste, it works pretty well, just rub the soda on your teeth and it'll do just dandy=]
Laser whitening has worked pretty well for me, but for home treatment, I use bleaching paste and teeth whitening trays. You can make a paste with 2-3 spoons of hydrogen peroxide & 2 spoons of baking soda.

ReplyDeleteI use a whitening gel because it's cheap. I can't afford a whitening system. It does an alright job. Nothing great, but it definitely removes enough yellow for respectability. There's no doubt about that. And, it would work with braces whereas a lot of stuff won't. A little tip for you: The label says to smear the gel onto your teeth, but it is much more effective if you put a lot on your toothbrush and brush it onto your teeth. I buy it online, but they may have it at WalMart or some place. I'm not so sure though so I just buy it online. It's called Plus White:

While you have your braces on, trays with gel can still whiten your teeth, and are less expensive than the in-office treatment, but I would discuss this with your dentist/orthodontist.
